"We'll Be In Touch" - LeBron James Has Already Started His Kawhi Leonard Recruitment

Now there are a couple ways to look at that interaction between LeBron and Kawhi. On one side you (mostly Raptors fans) can take that line as LeBron simply brushing off Kawhi, that using a line like that is how you get away from people who you don’t want much to say to. Think about it in your day to day life, you hear companies tell you that when they are not planning on offering you the job, you say it to old friends that you don’t really want to hang out with just to get out of the awkward conversation, it’s fairly common and something that happens everyday.

But this is LeBron, known tamperer and recruiter for his stinky Lakers team. That same team that just so happens to have money available for someone like Kawhi this summer. As you know, Kawhi is free to go wherever he wants this year once the summer hits, and there have been rumors that he is still interested in going out to LA, just not with the Lakers. If you think this was just an innocent one liner you’re either not paying attention or you’re in denial as a Raptors fan. And as someone who has to deal with all the fake bullshit that comes with comments like this when it happens with my own potential free agent, I’m afraid I have no choice but to come to the conclusion that Kawhi is 100% leaving TOR after this season. I don’t want to, but that’s the rule on the internet. When comments and interactions like this happen between two star players that could potentially pair up this summer, the rule is no matter what that they are going to join forces and leave your favorite team. What on earth could LeBron and Kawhi have in common and want to talk about at a later date if it’s not about joining the Lakers?

As you may know, the Raptors went all in and pretty much put it all on the line to get Kawhi and convince him to stay. Should he leave TOR this summer they are big time fucked with an older Kyle Lowry on big money, a 50 year old Ibaka and Pascal Siakam. That’s pretty much it. Losing Kawhi would be devastating for them so I can understand not wanting to believe the reality that LeBron is about to steal their best player. It’s probably only a matter of time before we get the news that Kawhi is joining Klutch, but at least this video gives Raptors fans time to mentally prepare.

But sure, there’s nothing to see here. Just an innocent blow off comment that doesn’t mean anything. That makes sense.
